All forthcoming outputs will be published at 09:30am unless otherwise stated.

As of 31 January 2023 PHS will be publishing A&E data in a new format and will also be including monthly demographic data and data on patterns of attendance, previously published annually. Additional information on Source of Referral/Discharge Destination, and Multiple attendances will be added to the new web pages late February/early March. The new format of publishing data will initially run in parallel with ongoing weekly/monthly publications. The parallel running of both formats will be phased with the intention to switch to the new format in April/May this year. From week commencing 16 January 2023 PHS will no longer pre-announce the Hospital onset COVID-19 cases in Scotland report. This will be available at: https://www.hps.scot.nhs.uk/web-resources-container/arhai-scotland-forthcoming-publications/

The report will be published on the NSS website Publications | National Services Scotland (nhs.scot)

The TB Annual Report due for release on 31 January 2023 - During the quality assurance process, a minor data quality issue was identified affecting a few records. As a consequence, some analysis and associated text will have to be updated. This has resulted in a delay to the original publication date. The report will now be published on Tuesday 21 February 2023.

The DAISy Treatment report publication pre-announced for 24 January 2023 has been rescheduled to 28 March 2023 in order to undertake further data quality and completeness analysis.

Community Acute Respiratory Infection (CARI) surveillance in primary care: Evaluation report November 2021–May 2022 - preannounced for 20 December 2022 has been postponed for coverage in a future publication, alongside evaluation of the 2022/2023 CARI programme. 

The Mental Health Inpatient Activity publication due for release on 13 December 2022 has been rescheduled to 28 March 2023 due to new analysis necessary, based on stakeholder intelligence needs, and resource issues.

Scottish Cervical Screening Programme Statistics scheduled for 22 November 2022 has been delayed until 21 March 2023, this is due to changes in KPIs and team resource constraints affecting the reporting schedule.

Scottish Cardiac Audit Programme (SCAP) - preannounced for 17 January 2023 has been rescheduled to allow additional time for data validation. The draft reports are currently being reviewed by the clinical community and will now be published on 14 March 2023.

Prescribing Statistics - National Therapeutic Indicators Data Visualisation scheduled for 31 January 2023 has been delayed until 14 February 2023 due to resource issues. 

National Naloxone Programme Scotland: Quarterly Bulletin (2022/23 Q2) scheduled for 7 March 2023 has been delayed until 28 March 2023 due to resource issues.

  • Delayed Discharges in NHSScotland

    • May 2023

    The publication provides a monthly update on the number of hospital bed days associated with delayed discharges for a full calendar month. Information is also provided on the number of people experiencing a delay in discharge from hospital at the monthly census point. The data relate to people aged 18 and over.

  • Scottish Cervical Screening Programme Statistics

    • May 2023

    Annual update (including quarterly data) of cervical screening statistics to 31 March 2022. Includes uptake, reporting times, number of smears processed and results.

    Update of Waiting Times Statistics: Quarterly waiting times statistics for the 18 weeks Referral to Treatment standard.

  • Prescribing Statistics - Monthly Prescribing Activity Data

    • May 2023

    A dashboard will be available which covers practice level prescribing for the latest month.

  • NHS Waiting Times - Diagnostics

    • May 2023

    Update of Waiting Times Statistics Quarterly waiting times statistics for Diagnostics - Information on number of patients waiting for a key diagnostic test.

  • Acute Hospital Activity and NHS Beds Information

    • May 2023

    Provides a range of statistics relating to acute hospital activity and bed availability.

  • Cancelled Planned Operations

    • May 2023

    Statistics on NHS Board/Hospital cancellations of operations for patients who have been booked for an elective scheduled theatre operation.

  • Abortions Statistics

    • May 2023

    Annual - derived from statutory notification.

  • Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratios

    • May 2023

    These statistics are updated on a quarterly basis and reflect the HSMR for the latest 12 month reporting period when drawing comparisons against the Scottish average, whilst crude mortality data is presented by quarter to show trends.

  • NHS Waiting Times - Stage of Treatment

    • May 2023

    Update of Waiting Times Statistics, Quarterly waiting times statistics for the stage of treatment - Summary of waiting times and waiting lists in the acute sector of NHS Scotland.
