Workforce and education resources have been produced for the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The NHS Education for Scotland (NES) TURAS application is accessible online and provides a range of educational resources to support COVID-19 vaccinators at all levels of experience and others who are supporting the programme.
There are resources available on TURAS including the following topics:
- tips for health and social care staff caring for patients with hearing loss
- British Sign Language (BSL) and Tactile BSL
- sight loss awareness
- deafblind awareness
- sensory impairment and points for good communication
- procedural distress in children and young people
- procedural anxiety
- pregnancy, breastfeeding and women's health resources
- vaccinating children and young people
The resources are updated regularly to reflect programme updates.
COVID-19 vaccine resources
Information on COVID-19 for the public (external website), including vaccine leaflets, can be found on NHS inform.
Public Health Scotland has also produced a number of resources for professionals to support the COVID-19 vaccination rollout.
To order resources and information leaflets from PHS, email email@example.com
Other languages and formats, such as Easy Read and large print, are also available to order via this email address.
Side effect resources
It is important that people understand the potential side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Teach Back tool (external website) can be used to check people's understanding of side effects they may experience after the vaccine. This is of particular use if written information isn’t available in their preferred language.
